As part of the company’s strive to continuously acquire and retain the best talent, Cheiron has recently undergone a change in management, bringing on board Chief Executive Officers (currently, Mr Alan Linn) with decades of international experience who can steer the company toward realizing its strategic goals. Alan Linn

Alan has extensive international experience and a strong industry reputation and is experienced in both the downstream and upstream oil and gas industries. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chemical Engineering having graduated from Strathclyde University, Glasgow. Alan has had the opportunity to hold key roles in prominent organizations including Exxon Mobil, Lasmo, Cairn Energy and Tullow and, most recently, has been the CEO at ROC Oil, Afren and Providence Resources. He has lived and worked in several international locations throughout his career including the UK, USA, Pakistan, India, Venezuela, Australia and Malaysia.

Mohamed Mostafa

Finance Manager

Mohamed Mostafa

With over 28 years of experience, Mr. Mostafa is the leading authority on Egyptian joint ventures. He has extensive experience with PSC’s and JV’s and an excellent relationship with EGPC. Mohamed graduated in 1988 with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from Cairo University. He started his career as an Accountant in Suez Oil Company (SUCO) in 1989 and held several accounting positions in the area of materials accounting and fixed assets disciplines, before leaving his Senior Accountant position at SUCO in 1995. He joined PICO International Petroleum in 1996 as Accounting Manager. Since August 2003, he has been the company’s Finance Manager. He is responsible for all finance disciplines, including accounting, budget, taxation, as well as dealing with different partners and EGPC. Since April 2005, he has also been a Board Member of South Ramadan Marine Committee and then of SROCO, a Joint Venture with GPC and EGPC, where he follows up the operations of the South Ramadan Marine field.

Ihab Girgis

Ihab Girgis

Mr. Ihab Sami Girgis holds a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College. He is a seasoned Oil and Gas professional with experience across the service, strategy consulting and operating sectors within the industry. With experience across Africa, Europe and Asia Ihab has a focus on cross regional and multi cultural business delivery with an emphasis on accountable leadership. Prior to joining Cheiron Ihab held several Technical and Operational leadership roles with BG-Group and later Shell. Within management consulting he worked on CEO/Board strategic projects for IOC’s and NOC’s across the globe. Ihab started his career as a wireline field engineer with Schlumberger. Ihab was formerly the General Manager and Managing Director for Gempetco and Zafco Joint Operating Companies and a Director of the Board on Amapetco and PetroWeb. Currently, Ihab is Cheiron’s Technical Manager.

Dr. Noha Mansour

Dr. Noha Mansour

With over 20 years of human resource, organizational development and administration experience, Dr. Noha started her career in the public sector where she spent 14 years in four different Ministries in Egypt, before joining the private sector in 2011. In the private sector she was exposed to different industries including oil and gas, services, trading, and investments. During her time as the Manager of Human Resources for Cheiron, she was responsible for developing and implementing training & development, performance management, employee retention, benefits management and employee relations polices and strategies. In her current role as Support Services Manager, Dr. Noha is also supervising the IT, administration and medical departments. Dr. Noha substantiated her working experience with a successful academic career. She earned her Master’s degree in 2002 and followed that with a Doctorate in Business Administration in 2011.

Amina Taha

Commercial Manager

Amina Taha

Amina Taha is Cheiron’s Commercial Manager, a position she took on in July 2018. Prior to this, she was the Deputy Commercial and Legal Manager at Cheiron. Amina has 16 years of experience in the field of economic research and policy-making having previously worked as Senior Economist at the Ministry of Trade and Industry and held positions at El Ezz Group, Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, and the Egyptian Center for Economic Studies. Amina has a BA in Economics from the American University in Cairo and earned a dual Master’s Degree in Economics and Public Policy and Administration from the American University in Cairo in 2009.

 

James Garvie

HSE Advisor

James Garvie

James is Cheiron’s HSE Advisor, responsible for the design and implementation of the Company-wide HSE and sustainability management framework. He has 27 years of development and operational experience. Prior to joining Cheiron, he was Group Environmental Engineering Manager for BG Group overseeing environmental performance across 25 countries. As a consultant, James has also helped BP, Shell, Centrica and the UK’s National Grid deliver developments globally. Outside the oil and gas industry, he was on the senior management team for one of Europe’s largest multidiscipline engineering and environmental consultancies and advisor to Intel Corporation’s European manufacturing hub. He has a BSc in Chemistry, Resources and the Environment from York University and a MSc in Environmental Technology with Energy Policy from Imperial College London.

Hassan Sayed

Deputy Finance Manager and Head of Treasury

Hassan Sayed

Hassan Sayed has been the Deputy Finance Manager since November 2013, and has more recently taken on the role of Head of Treasury in June 2017. As part of his roles, Hassan is responsible for all finance disciplines, including accounting, budget, taxation, as well as dealing with Cheiron’s partners, EGPC, and several financial institutions. During his time at Cheiron, he has worked on transactions, acquisitions and divesture activities, and gained experience negotiating with banks and investors. Hassan graduated from Helwan University’s Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration in 2004 majoring in Accounting. He is also a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Certified Treasury Professional (CTP).

Jaine Miller

Jaine Miller, Cheiron Energy’s General Counsel, has over 30 years oil and gas industry legal and negotiations experience across the upstream, midstream and downstream marketing spectrum. Prior to joining Cheiron in 2013, Jaine held various Legal and Governance management roles at BG Egypt, Eni Indonesia and Australia and lead regional counsel roles in Lasmo. Jaine has an LLB (Hons) England & Wales, is a Barrister-at-Law (Lincoln’s Inn) and has an MBA (London Guildhall)

Mohamed Mahmoud El Naka

Managing Director and General Manager for Norpetco

Mohamed Mahmoud El Naka

Mohamed started his Cheiron career in 2010 as a field development manager in Amal Petroleum Company with full responsibility for the delivery of Amal field development projects, including the offshore and onshore facilities. In 2017, he became the Deputy Projects General Manager for both Amal Petroleum and West El-Burullus Petroleum Companies and in 2020 he moved to Cheiron’s Head Office where he became the Projects Development Manager. In his various roles he has made a significant contribution to all Cheiron’s major project activity. Mohamed graduated in Cairo with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Power & Automotive Department from Ain Shams University.

Nasr Ramadan Hassan Hamed

Managing Director and General Manager for Petrogulf Misr

Nasr Ramadan Hassan Hamed

Nasr started his Cheiron career in 2009 as the Deputy Petroleum Engineering General Manager in Petrogulf Misr. In 2012, he became the Deputy Operations General Manager for Amal Petroleum Company, where he contributed to the multi well field redevelopment plan and, in 2020, he moved back to Petrogulf Misr where he helped lead the successful GNN field development drilling campaign and the installation of the Early Production Facilities. Nasr graduated in Suez with a degree in Petroleum Engineering from Suez Canal University.

Adel Samaha

General Manager and Managing Director for Gempetco and Zafco

Adel Samaha

Has over 35 years of diversified experience in the Petroleum industry, with bachelor’s degree in Geology, he commenced his career with a range of operational roles at EGPC and Shell in onshore and offshore areas. Samaha has extensive technical and operational experience in the Petroleum sector in both government JVs and partners organizations. He was the Deputy CEO for Exploration and Agreements at EGPC. Formerly, he was the Deputy Chairman for Exploration and Agreements at Ganope. He was also EUG Head of Steering Committee and Board member of NAPETCO, Petrofarah and EDC and worked as Assistant Vice Chairman for Exploration at Mansoura Petroleum Company. Samaha was appointed as the General Manager & Managing Director of Gempetco and Zafco in May 2022.

Mohamed Aly Hassan

Mohamed Aly Hassan

Mohamed Aly Hassan is the General Manager and Managing Director of Cheiron’s Joint Operating Companies Amapetco and Petroweb. Mohamed has 35 years of experience in the oil and gas sector. Prior to this, Mohamed was the CEO of EGPC, then the Chairman of EGAS. He started his career as a petroleum engineer in Petrogulf Misr (previously known as Geiso Oil Company) in 1985. Throughout the years, he has also worked as a General Manager of Rashpetco, Chairman for Operations in NOSPCO, Chairman for Operations in PHPC, Chairman and MD of SUCO and also Chairman and MD of Rashpetco. Mohamed graduated with BSc in Petroleum Engineering from Cairo University 1982.

Shamrendra Singh

General Manager and Managing Director for Bapetco

Shamrendra Singh

Shamrendra has 20 years of experience in the oil & gas upstream business spanning time spent in India, North Sea and Egypt. He started his career as a Petroleum Engineer with Enron and then, following Enron’s acquisition by BG, the BG Group where he held various technical positions initially in India and then in the UK and Norway covering a range of E&P activities including working on offshore installations. Subsequently, he moved on to take several leadership positions in BG Group, first as Subsurface Manager for various assets in the Central and Southern North Sea areas, then as a Technical General Manager for BG Egypt, after which he moved on to become Vice President for Developments at BG India. Before joining Cheiron, he was the Asset Manager for Elgin hub and J Area assets in the North Sea for BG UK Upstream and took an active leadership role in developing a new target operating model implemented during the Shell / BG integration process. Shamrendra graduated with a Bachelor of Technology in Petroleum Engineering (Gold Medalist) from the Indian School of Mines Dhanbad in 1999.”
